SOCIAL MEDIA ON FLEEK

Marketing Tips You Can Take From Your Favorite Hollywood Females

Hey fellow marketers, looking to step up your social media game? Guess what! We can actually learn quite a few things from Hollywood, thanks to some of our most engaging women in the industry.

#1. Create Your Own Hype.

Queen Bee: When Beyonce isn’t busy running the world as a singer, dance, mother, wife, actress, producer, director, and entrepreneur, she is inspiring women everywhere. In case you missed it, she took over the world once again when announced her confidence-boosting, empowering social media campaign “What is Pretty” last year, timed accordingly to precede the release of the latest single from her album, “Pretty Hurts.” Her hashtag “WhatIsPretty,” trended worldwide and her video went viral, which has since then has racked up over 90 million views.

Lesson: Don’t wait, make your own media coverage. Start with your company blog, and get creative! Generate excitement about something - upload an catchy photo, publish an engaging video, or better yet, create a unique campaign that utilizes different types of digital media and content. Done right, your story will get the media attention it deserves.

#2: Build Network Connections.

T-Swift: From musicians, supermodels, actresses, and more, Taylor Swift has friends in all the right places. Lorde, Karlie Kloss, Selena Gomez, along with other major celebs (not to mention her 57 million followers) seemed to tweet out love to T’s 1989 album. Both her team of renowned besties and recognized brand endorsements shared special content regarding her music, massively increasing her audience reach, while also establishing credibility. All that hype got her fans pumped and eager to buy her album.

Lesson: Build relationships with other industry professionals. You never know when you might need help, or when you can help someone else. Also, forming partnerships can increase your audience reach and open the door to marketing opportunities that wouldn’t otherwise be possible.

#3: Be fun. Be real. Be you.

Chrissy Teigen: She’s just one of those effortlessly cool people who never struggle with a funny Instagram caption and the one girl you’re just dying to be friends with. The secret to her social media success? She posts anything she finds funny. Also known as John Legend’s model wifey, Chrissy uses social media as an outlet to give her audience an inside look on what’s going on her life. Whether she’s all dolled up for the Billboard Music Awards, or just whipping something up in her kitchen with no make-up on, she has a hilarious and light-hearted take on whatever she’s doing. Chrissy has managed to rack up over 2 million followers on her Instagram account, all who adore her satisfyingly witty, yet humanizing photos.

Lesson: Don’t treat social media as a chore. Have some fun with it! Post what you love, or anything you find funny. Reminding your followers that there’s a human behind your account will make them more likely relate to your brand. Give your followers a chance to get to know you and what your brand is really about, and create an experience for them that they can’t get anywhere else.
